1、lack 和lack of 分不清
lack 作動(dòng)詞，后面應(yīng)該要直接跟賓語(yǔ)：如 A number of students lack skills.
lack 作名詞，后面應(yīng)該要加個(gè)介詞才行：如 Man can understand the universe but not women. Because man is lack of thatunderstanding. 男人可以了解宇宙卻不能了解女人，因?yàn)槟腥巳狈δ欠N腦細(xì)胞。
2、benefit 和benefit from 分不清
作不及物動(dòng)詞，benefit from... '從...中受益’.如：Do they get any benefit from this game? 他們能從 游戲中得到什么利益嗎?
作及物動(dòng)詞，benefit 表示 '對(duì)...有益’, 如：They are working together to benefit the whole community. 他們?cè)跒檎麄€(gè)社區(qū)的利益共同努力。
3、modern 被錯(cuò)拼成mordern
避免單詞拼錯(cuò)可以記單詞的詞根詞源：來(lái)自mode,模式，方式，尺度，-ern,形容詞后綴。引申詞義現(xiàn)存的，最新的模式，現(xiàn)代的。
4、outweigh 被錯(cuò)拼成outweight
(out-,超過(guò)，weigh,稱(chēng)重。)
The benefits of the scheme outweigh the disadvantages. 這項(xiàng)計(jì)劃利大于弊。
The advantages of this deal largely outweigh the disadvantages.
這筆交易的利遠(yuǎn)大于弊。
5、potential 被誤寫(xiě)為potentials
· The boy has great potential.
這個(gè)男孩有很大的潛力?！?The school strives to treat students as individuals and to help each one to achieve their full potential.
